2015 NFL free agency: Bills players who could be Jaguars targets

New, comments

Former Bills offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett and head coach Doug Marrone are now with the Jaguars, meaning there could be a number of players in Buffalo making their way to Jacksonville.

The Jacksonville Jaguars hired former Buffalo Bills head coach Doug Marrone and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett this offseason, giving the team some inside information on players they wouldn't have known otherwise.

Does that mean the Jaguars will target Bills free agents this spring? Possibly. Who could they be? Here's the full list of free agents from 2015:

Name Position Age Cap Hit Status
C.J. Spiller RB 27 $5,916,666 UFA
Jerry Hughes DE 26 $3,995,000 UFA
Erik Pears G 32 $3,450,000 UFA
Brandon Spikes ILB 27 $3,250,000 UFA
Da'Norris Searcy S 26 $1,552,106 UFA
Chris Hairston LT 25 $748,977 UFA
Marcus Easley WR 27 $730,000 UFA
Lee Smith TE 27 $688,401 UFA
Jarius Wynn DE 28 $635,000 UFA
Stevenson Sylvester ILB 26 $570,000 UFA
Larry Dean OLB 26 $569,118 UFA
Corbin Bryant DT 27 $495,000 ERFA
Chris Hogan WR 26 $495,000 ERFA
Jordan Gay P 24 $420,000 ERFA
Marcus Thigpen RB 28 $167,647 RFA

The list of Bills free agents is definitely better than the list of Raiders free agents, and there are a number of players who could make their way south. But the way Marrone left Buffalo could have left a sour taste in some players' mouths, and that could get in the way of some signings.

Inside linebacker Brandon Spikes could be a player targeted. He's definitely a run-stopper, but he's not a liability in the passing game like Paul Posluszny. Defensive end Jerry Hughes also had 40 pressures and 12 sacks last year, although he will come at a very steep price.

Tight end Lee Smith could provide some depth, but he's more of a run blocker. And, no, running back C.J. Spiller will not be a target.
