Jaguars sign WR/RS Bryan Walters

The Jaguars have added a young receiver to their team, and a challenger in the return game.

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced they've signed second-year wide receiver/return specialist Bryan Walters.

Walters has appeared in 21 games, with one start, since entering the NFL as an undrafted rookie with the San Diego Chargers in 2010. He's also spent time with the Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks. His career totals include nine receptions for 84 yards and 35 punt returns for 252 yards.

He played in a career-high 13 games in 2014 for the Seahawks where he totaled six catches for 57 yards and returned 27 punts for 207 yards (7.7 yards-per-carry average).

Walters played at Cornell where he was a second-team All-Ivy League selection as a WR and return specialist as a senior. He set conference records in career punt (972) and kick return yardage (2,790).

He'll likely challenge Ace Sanders for the role of punt returner, who averaged just 7.0 yards per punt return in 2014.
