The Jacksonville Jaguars missed out on a chance to sign wide receiver Randall Cobb when he re-signed with the Packers, but it appears the team is the front runner for tight end Julius Thomas. It's no secret Thomas is a target for the Jaguars in free agency, but it was also believed that someone like the Oakland Raiders would also chase him.
It seemed likely it would come down to which one of the two teams with the most cap room blinked first would lose out, and it appears that the Raiders blinked.

If the Raiders are turning their focus to one of the other tight ends on the market, to me that says that Julius Thomas may already have details of a deal nearly worked out with a team.
Certainly there are other teams who will be interested in Thomas, but the Jaguars have been consistently one of those teams and a lot of signs, and rumors, seem to point to the Jaguars landing Julius as early as Tuesday afternoon.
