2015 NFL Draft results: Jaguars pick Dante Fowler, Jr.

The Jaguars have picked a pass rusher with their first round pick, Florida linebacker Dante Fowler.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have made their pick in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft. The pick is Florida linebacker/defensive end Dante Fowler, Jr. Fowler isn't a big surprise fit for the Jaguars in the first round, as most expected the team to upgrade the LEO defensive end position and Fowler would seem to fit that.

At 6'3" and 260 pounds, Fowler is a power edge rusher who can play both standing up and his hand on the ground so it should be easy for Gus Bradley to work him into the Jaguars defensive scheme early on in some packages.

Many pegged Fowler as a fit for the Jaguars early in the process, with him being linked to the team in mock drafts as early as January. One of the big sells, in my opinion on Fowler for the Jaguars, is his overall personality. He seems like he fits right in with the Gus Bradley mold and the type of attitude their players like to have.

During his career at Florida, Fowler accumulated 34 tackles for loss in 37 games, 14.5 sacks and consistently was a disruptive force for the Gators defense.
