The Jacksonville Jaguars have selected offensive lineman A.J. Cann with their third round pick, adding more depth to their offensive line. Cann, who played guard at South Carolina has been compared to Baltimore Ravens lineman Ben Grubbs.
The Jaguars added two offensive lineman in free agency this offseason, so clearly they still think it needs some improvement on the interior. The addition of Cann likely means that Zane Beadles starting job isn't set in stone, considering how well Brandon Linder played last season.
Cann is a four year starter at South Carolina and should compete immediately for a starting job on the Jaguars offensive line. There was some talk that a lot of teams viewed Cann as a center, so it's possible he could be thrown into that competition as well between Luke Bowanko and Stefan Wisniewski.
It's an interesting pick by the Jaguars none the less. It's likely Cann was rated highly on their board and he was just too much value to pass up.
