The Jacksonville Jaguars began Saturday with a trade, sending the No. 103 pick to the New York Jets and dropping just one spot to the No. 104 pick in the fourth round instead.
As compensation for the move that sent the fourth pick of the fourth round to New York, the Jaguars received the fifth pick of the fourth round and a seventh round pick, the 229th selection. The Jets used their newly acquired selection to snag Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty.
The trade was the first of the 2015 NFL Draft for the Jaguars after staying put in each of the first three rounds of the draft. The Jaguars entered Saturday with four selections, including one seventh round pick. The team now owns the 220nd and 229th picks in the seventh round.
The Jaguars then used the No. 104 pick to address its lack of depth in the secondary and snag Louisville safety James Sample.
