The Jacksonville Jaguars officially announced on Monday morning the signing of nine undrafted rookie free agents, headlined by former Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall. Marshall won't be playing on the offensive side of the ball with the Jaguars however, as he will attempt to make the transition to corner.
Marshall originally played corner for the Georgia Bulldogs before being kicked off the team and going the JUCO route, where he moved to the quarterback position and stayed there when he ended up at Auburn. Marshall played corner at the Reese's Senior Bowl, under the watch of the Jaguars staff on the South Team. At 6'1", 205 pounds with 32" arms, Marshall fits the "body type" the Jaguars have seemed to look for in their corners. Marshall was a top performer at nearly every combine drill for his position.
The full list of undrafted free agent signings by the Jaguars are as follows:
Nick Marshall, CB, Auburn
Corey Grant, RB, Auburn
Thurston Ambrister, LB, Miami (FL)
Eric Crume, DT, Syracuse
Connor Hamlett, TE, Oregon State
Chris Reed, OL, Minnesota State
Matt Robinson, LB, Maryland
Todd Thomas, LB, Pittsburgh
Jake Waters, QB, Kansas State
These players, along with a group of try out rookies and players, should be at the Jaguars rookie mini-camp.
