International Federation of American Football applies for 2020 Olympic Games

Can't wait to start calling him Olympic quarterback Blake Bortles, tbh.

The International Federation of American Football and 25 additional Olympic federations from around the world have applied for football to be included in the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Although the International Federation of Football's website doesn't name the participating Olympic federations, you'd have to imagine the United States and Canada to be leading the charge, as well as Western European countries like England, Scotland, Ireland, Spain, Germany, France, and more who have played host to NFL Europe franchises in the past.

There's also considerable interest in Italy, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea for football, so it's no surprise the sport is continually considered for Olympic inclusion.

The final decision on whether football becomes an Olympic sport will be made in August of 2016.
