The Jacksonville Jaguars have had some of the greatest and most feared players in the league at their respective positions in their over 20 years as an NFL team.
Maurice Jones-Drew and Fred Taylor were, at points, the best running backs in the game and when they were the one-two punch in the Jaguars backfield they nearly got the Jaguars to the Super Bowl.
Tony Boselli is a borderline Hall of Fame offensive tackle, but injuries cut his career (and chances at getting into Canton) short. Nevertheless, he was a dominant blocker who bookended the left side during the Jaguars glory years of the late 90's.
Tony Brackens was another player who never quite reached his potential because of injuries but damn if he wasn't electric when he was on.
But if I'm going to restore one player to his former greatness and put him on the 2015 Jacksonville Jaguars, it's Jimmy Smith. He's the greatest player in team history and receiver is a position of need. His routes were smooth, his footwork was great, he could make all the catches, and (most importantly) he did it with incredible speed.
When he retired in 2007, only Marvin Harrison had amassed more receptions and yards than him during his career.
Blake Bortles is in his second year and he's not good yet. Having a deep threat like Jimmy Smith to complement new tight end Julius Thomas and intermediate guys like Marqise Lee, Allen Robinson, and Allen Hurns would go a long way towards his development.
I chose Jimmy Smith. Which Jaguars great would you resurrect and put on this year's team?
