Tony Khan/ Gus Bradley

The other day I had a chance opportunity to speak with Jaguars head of analytics Tony Khan, I brought up him advocating for Gabbert because of the analytics showing he could be a " good QB" with more time. This analytic was also used as part of the justification of drafting Lule Joeckel 2nd overall in 2013. When I asked T. Khan about this he disagreed and said it wasn't true, Khan then said that he was asked by Gus to come up with positive analytics, even though Khan claims he told Bradley "many, many, many times that Gabbert was bad QB. This brings up the question why would Gus do this? If your head analytics guy is saying this guy is a bad QB why ask him to come up with positive analytics, then use these made up analytics to justify keeping Gabbert and taking a LT in Joeckel?
