Jaguars vs. Steelers: Live blog for preseason opener

New, comments

The Jaguars kick off their 2015 preseason opener tonight! Follow along with our live blog and join our discussion leading up to the game, during, and recap all the news after.

Phil Sears-USA TODAY Sports

The Jacksonville Jaguars are hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers on Friday night at EverBank Field to kick off their 2015 preseason.

Second-year quarterback Blake Bortles has looked relatively good in training camp and at last week's intrasquad scrimmage, but this will be the first live football action of 2015. Will he keep improving? Will fellow second-year players Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns step up as well?

What about the defense? Newly signed Jared Odrick, interior lineman Sen'Derrick Marks, and pass rusher Chris Clemons are out with injuries. How will the young guys step up? Can Chris Smith continue to stake his claim as a legitimate LEO prospect for the Jaguars?

I'm pumped and you should be too. Let's do this.

8:05 PM: No, it wasn't a touchdown, but Blake Bortles & Co. just capped off a 13-play, 60-yard drive. Sustained drive. That's good.

8:01 PM: Luke Joeckel is struggling against James Harrison.

7:49 PM: A better look at that Martavis Bryant touchdown. No analysis needed. Davon House just got beat on the first long ball for the Jaguars secondary this season.
