Ask a Pats Fan

It's week 3 and the Jags are tied for 1st place in their division. So are we in the AFCEast. Thanks for handing the Phins an L! Our teams are only one game apart and really some good fortune as well. After all, it wasn't more than 20 years ago that the New England Patriots were thought of as a potential franchise to move. Give a head-coach a few years, give a young quarterback a chance to develop, build some OL and weapons around him, slowly assemble the pieces of a defense, and there you got yourself a contender.

Or you can be like the Colts, deliberately and excitedly Sucking for Luck.

At any rate, while some may dismiss the chances of the Jaguars, I say such is utterly foolish. It wasn't long ago that many not just in New England assumed that the Jags had no chance against the 2012 New England Patriots. In hindsight that might have been an understandable if not fair assumption given that New England went back to the AFCCG that year. However I recall that game and remember that Jacksonville actually came very close to upsetting us. Any given Sunday.

Blake Bortles will have a chance if TJ Yeldon gets going. That's just a fact. For the Jags to win in Foxboro it starts with grounding and pounding it because it'll have to be a grind, you'll have to keep Brady off the field and you'll need to create pressure with 4 or fewer guys. So far Brady has a 141.5 passer-rating against the blitz. If they can do that and get some fumbles to bounce the right way or tipped balls to land in the right hands, the Jags will be able to do what the pre-Arians Arizona Cardinals were able to do when they took a crazy win out of Gillette Stadium early in the 2012 season.

We generally encourage these threads to be about football. There is of course that subject from the off-season that we northerners call "Framegate" which, if you do feel compelled to bring up, I ask that you do so with civility.
