Jaguars vs. Bears: Who was at fault for each sack in Week 6?

In terms of pass protection, the Jaguars did a pretty decent job against the Bears front seven.

The Jacksonville Jaguars had a very, very good day against the Chicago Bears. Blake Bortles was sacked just twice. He was hit just three times. And there were just two tackles for a loss on 53 offensive plays.

But two sacks are two sacks... who was responsible for each of them? (It’s fairly cut-and-dry this week. Sorry, everyone.)

Sack #1: 2nd-and-8 at JAX 41, 2:40 left in 2Q

You don’t put Julius Thomas one-on-one with Willie Young. You just don’t.

Final verdict: Julius Thomas

Sack #2: 2nd-and-5 at JAX 21, 11:44 left in 4Q

Blake Bortles is totally to blame for this sack. He’s got to either tuck and run or throw it away. His hesitancy to make a decision cost his team yards, the ball, and almost the game.

Final verdict: Blake Bortles

2016 sack totals

Name Sacks Allowed
Kelvin Beachum 3.5
Blake Bortles 2.0
Luke Joeckel 2.0
Jermey Parnell 1.0
Tyler Shatley 1.0
A.J. Cann 1.0
Neal Sterling 1.0
Julius Thomas 1.0
Denard Robinson 0.5

And that’s it. Two sacks. Next up: Oakland!
