The Jacksonville Jaguars were awful on Thursday Night Football against the Tennessee Titans. The offense was impotent until the fourth quarter, the defense was undisciplined, and special teams — specifically kick returns — were probably the only bright spot.
But the pass protection was good once again, even if the run blocking was abysmal. On 54 pass attempts, Blake Bortles was only sacked twice. And the Titans defense knew the pass was coming — T.J. Yeldon and Chris Ivory combined for just seven (SEVEN!) carries.
So who was responsible for each of those two sacks? Let’s find out.
Sack #1: 3rd-and-6 at TEN 35, 4:07 left in 2Q
Does A.J. Cann just not see Avery Williamson? Is the protection all wrong? Did Blake Bortles not adjust? If I had to guess, I’m saying Cann because it looks like he doesn’t even see Williamson, who’s sneaking up into his blind spot along his right side.
Verdict: A.J. Cann
Sack #2: 3rd-and-10 at JAX 46, 5:37 left in 3Q
Jermey Parnell got beat badly around the edge. It’s not even close who’s to blame for this.
Verdict: Jermey Parnell
