It was truly a long day coming for Jacksonville Jaguars legend Jimmy Smith.
Smith, the Jaguars all time leader in receptions (862), receiving yards (12,287), and touchdowns (67), was inducted into the “Pride of the Jaguars” today — An honor given to the most notable Jaguars team members in the team’s 22 year history.
There are six members in the Pride of the Jaguars: Tony Boselli (who was inducted in 2006), former team owners Wayne and Delores Weaver (2012), Fred Taylor (2012), Mark Brunell (2013), and now Smith.
Here’s the full video of Jimmy Smith’s induction and speech, which occurred during halftime of the Jaguars-Vikings game:

Smith displayed his love for the team and the city of Jacksonville during his speech with this perfect, emotional quote:
“Even if one day I get voted to the NFL Hall of Fame, that could never mean more than what it means to me today, to be inducted to the Pride”.
As Jaguars owner Shad Khan said during his speech: “Jimmy, you have earned this recognition through your performance and the excellence you have always displayed. Thank you.”
Thanks, Jimmy.
