Los Angeles Rams fire head coach Jeff Fisher

And Gus Bradley still has a job.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Rams have fired head coach Jeff Fisher just eight days after giving him a two-year extension. Fisher was hired as head coach of the Rams in 2012 back when they were in St. Louis and has compiled a record of 31-45-1 in a little less than five seasons with the franchise.

And yet, Gus Bradley still has a job. The Rams, a franchise with a rookie quarterback just a few games into his career in a new home thousands of miles away suffering from embarrassment and ridicule in one of the largest markets in the country was able to make the coaching decision midstream.

Shad Khan's unwillingness to make a decision on Gus Bradley midseason is going to come back and bite them in the ass. The Rams already have a head start on a new coaching hire. The Buffalo Bills will likely let go of Rex Ryan soon. That's two franchises who will have weeks more time to get their act together when it comes to a new coaching staff.

Fisher was tied for the lead in most career losses by a head coach in NFL history with 165.
