Who is the Jaguars’ Han Solo?

Never tell Jalen Ramsey the odds.

@Javalb_

It’s December — the time of year where most Jaguars fans give up on the team until they get excited by free agency and the draft. At this time, we feel somber about our favorite team.

However, there’s something to be excited about today, and that’s the release of the new Star Wars movie — Rogue One, A Star Wars Story.

Whether you’re a fan or Star Wars or not (if you think Star Wars is bad, you’re wrong), it’s hard to not be excited for the release of Rogue One. The story of the movie branches off from the series of episodes and takes us back to the dawn of the Empire, to fill in what’s been discussed as a giant hole in the story.

I, personally, am a huge Star Wars nerd, so I could not be more excited for tonight when the movie is released (I have tickets to see it at 7:30 PM, the first release). To combat my sadness with how the Jaguars have performed this year, I’m going combine my favorite team with my favorite movie series to spread some positivity about the team.

So, on that note, who is the Jaguars’ “Han Solo”?

First, I’ll briefly explain who Han Solo is to anyone who doesn’t know. Han Solo is one of the main characters in the Star Wars Saga, who is known for his sly personality and bad-assery as a ship pilot and gunman. Personally, Han Solo is my favorite character.

When it comes to the Jaguars, who better fits that description than Jalen Ramsey?

Jalen has been a light in dark times for Jacksonville. His play as a rookie has been phenomenal, shutting down wide receivers left and right. His cocky, sly attitude has brought us nothing but laughs and entertainment, including after the Ravens game when he was asked if he got into Steve Smith’s head:

"What do you think? You tell me. Any time I lined up on him -- y'all go watch that. Y'all tell me who got in whose head. He came up to me after the game. He's an old man acting like that."

The swagger he’s brought to Jacksonville in his game has been awesome as well. He never takes a play off, and makes his presence known whenever he has the chance to — His ego is as big as Han Solo’s, and it’s awesome.

So, laugh it up, Fuzzballs. This one was easy for me: If there is anyone on the Jaguars that is considered “our Han Solo”, it’s Jalen Ramsey.

Jalen Ramsey is to us as Han Solo was to the rebellion — A hero with an ego that you can’t help but love, and a skillset you know you can count on in times of trouble.

The force will be with him, always.
