The Jacksonville Jaguars could be in the middle of a front office restructure as Tom Coughlin is being linked more and more to an executive role with the team, this time as VP of football operations, according to Charles Robinson of Yahoo! Sports.
League source: Tom Coughlin could rejoin #Jaguars as an executive if he doesn't come back as head coach. Possibly VP of football operations.

Can Coughlin fit in a role like this? Sure. He has all the personnel and talent evaluator skills to be an asset in anyone’s front office. And his link to Jacksonville is the icing on the cake. Let Coughlin hire the head coach and the new general manager. Let him hold a role in the front office on the football side like what Mark Lamping does on the business side of things. Khan doesn’t want to meddle, so hiring someone to handle the football duties who knows football.
But the real question is does Coughlin want to fit in a role like this. If he still has the coaching bug, he’ll be a coach. And if he wants to be a coach and gets hired in a front office role like VP of football operations it could get dysfunctional.
