In the last home game of the year, the Jacksonville Jaguars hoped to win at home for the first time in a year, and play spoiler against the hated Tennessee Titans.
The game couldn't have started any better for the Jaguars, as a couple of Allen Robinson catches helped lead the Jaguars down the field. Bortles would cap off the drive with a back shoulder pass to Marqise Lee, who would score his third touchdown the season, as the Jaguars took a 7-0 lead.
After forcing the Titans to go three and out on the following drive, the Jaguars would drive down the field once again. However, they would be held short of the end-zone, as Jason Myers would cap off their 11-play, 63-yard drive with a 29 yard field goal, giving the Jaguars a 10-0 lead.
After punts by both teams on their next drives, the Titans would finally get on the board, as some solid runs by DeMarco Murray and a roughing the passer penalty helped set up a Titans touchdown. Marcus Mariota would throw a 3 yard touchdown to Rishard Matthews, cutting the lead to 10-7.
The Jaguars would respond with their longest timed drive of the year, as they took 7:02 to drive down the field and extend their lead. Chris Ivory would plow in the end zone on first-and-goal from the goal line to score. However, Myers would miss the extra point, only giving the Jaguars a 16-7 lead.
After forcing another Titans three and out, the Jaguars would try to extend their lead at the end of the half. They would just miss the chance at a touchdown, as Allen Robinson almost made the catch of the year on a jump ball, but failed to bring it in. The Jaguars would settle for a field goal though, and take a 19-7 lead into the half.
After forcing the Titans do go three and out to start the second half, the Jaguars hoped to once again extend the lead and start to put the Titans away. Unfortunately, that would not happen as Chris Ivory would fumble the ball, giving the Titans the ball at the Jaguars 26-yard line.
The defense would hold up after the turnover, as they would once again force the Titans to go three and out, forcing them into a 42-yard field goal to cut the lead to 19-10.
The Jaguars would respond with a field goal of their own after a 10-play, 37-yard drive. Myers would this time hit a 56-yard field goal, which probably had enough leg on it to make it over 60 yards. This would notch the score at 22-10.
After another Titans three and out, the Jaguars would once again drive into Titans territory. It looked like the Jaguars would once again get in the red-zone, as Bortles hit Lee on a drag route across the middle for 21 yards. However, Jermey Parnell would be flagged for hands to the face, pushing the Jaguars back to the 33 yard line. The Jaguars would settle for a field goal once again, extending their lead to 25-10.
With under a minute left in the third quarter, Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota would go down with an ankle injury, and would be replaced by Matt Cassel.
In somewhat of a desperation mode in the beginning of the 4th quarter, the Titans were able to drive down the field with a eight-play, 50 yard drive that ended in a 14-yard touchdown form Cassel to Delanie Walker to cut the Jaguars lead to 25-17.
The Jaguars would respond with another nice drive of their own, this helped again by two big gains on Allen Robinson catches. The Jaguars would pull some trickery to score a touchdown, as Marqise Lee would throw a touchdown to Blake Bortles (yes you read that right!) and Bortles pitched it back to Lee out of the shotgun who would run the other way as the defense shifted toward Lee and then throw a lob pass to Bortles that led him into the end zone. Myers would once again missed the extra point, only giving the Jaguars a 31-17 lead.
The game would be sealed on the Titans' next drive. Cassel would throw a pick six to Jalen Ramsey, which would mark his first interception for a touchdown for his career, and extend the Jaguars lead to 38-17.
The game would end in 38-17 score, as the Jaguars would end their nine-game losing streak, and get their third win of the year.
