The Jacksonville Jaguars announced they have placed second-year wide receiver Rashad Greene on their reserve/injured list after suffering an Achilles injury against the Buffalo Bills last week, effectively ending his 2016 NFL season.
Shane Wynn, a first-year receiver with the team, has been elevated to the 53-man active roster.
With Marqise Lee elevating his play this season, Greene had a hard time finding snaps this year. He finishes this year with just five catches for 32 yards and one first down.
Greene continued his return duties from last year where he excelled but this year struggled. He averaged just 6.2 yards per punt return and was plagued by several fumbles in recent games.
Bryan Walters will likely take over the punt return duties and newly promoted Wynn might see some snaps at receiver, but he’ll likely be a healthy scratch for the final five games.
