The Jacksonville Jaguars are going defense with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. That much is clear. Which defender depends on their draft board, but also who falls to them.
In his latest mock draft, NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah believes that Jalen Ramsey and Myles Jack are taken No. 3 and No. 4 respectively, and that Joey Bosa -- who he believes to be the best defensive lineman in the draft -- falls to the Jaguars at No. 5 overall.
Pick No. 5: Jacksonville Jaguars - Joey Bosa
The Jaguars need to address the defense and Bosa could team up with last year's top pick, Dante Fowler Jr., to produce a dynamic pass rush.
If this is the scenario and Ramsey and Jack are off the board, I have no problem with a Bosa pick. He's a complete defensive lineman, someone who can stop the run as well as pressure opposing quarterbacks, and he's the best defensive lineman in the 2016 NFL Draft. With general manager Dave Caldwell talking about how Fowler can line up at several defensive positions -- not just LEO -- a pure lineman wouldn't be a case of a duplicate pick two years in a row.
I just don't see the first four picks going this way. I truly believe that one of the two in the Chargers and Cowboys will grab a quarterback and that either Ramsey or Jack (or both) will be available to the Jaguars at No. 5 overall.
