2016 NFL free agency: Rams players who could be targeted by Jaguars

Who are the free agents for the Rams next month and who could the Jaguars take a look at?

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Rams haven't played a single game yet, but they've already started offloading impending free agents... specifically linebacker James Laurinatis, pass rusher Chris Long, and tight end Jared Cook. Do any of those three seem like fits for the Jacksonville Jaguars? What about the 18 other free agents they have available?

Here are all the impending Los Angeles Rams free agents, according to OverTheCap.com.

Player Position Status Salary
Chris Long DE SFA $12,047,500
James Laurinatis LB SFA $8,300,000
Jared Cook TE SFA $7,020,000

Brian Quick WR UFA $1,346,650
Janoris Jenkins CB UFA $1,247,535
Wes Welker WR UFA $1,170,000
Trumaine Johnson CB UFA $760,169
Tim Barnes C UFA $710,017
Case Keenum QB RFA $585,000
Brian Folkerts C RFA $585,000
Chase Reynolds RB RFA $585,000
Greg Zuerlein K UFA $568,868
Benny Cunningham RB RFA $498,333
Daren Bates S RFA $495,000
Cody Davis S RFA $495,000

Janoris Jenkins and Trumaine Johnson are obviously the crown jewels of this free agency crop, as far as the Jaguars are concerned. Johnson is an incredible athlete and Jenkins has amazing technique and game intelligence. (Check out our comparison of the two here.)

Tim Barnes struggled last year, especially in run blocking, and that's where the Jaguars really need to get better in 2016. Nick Fairley is a good player and he'll get a great contract, but I don't see him fitting with what the Jaguars are trying to build.
