Jaguars reached out to Josh Scobee last year, but injury prevented return

Former Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee confirmed Jacksonville contacted him throughout the 2015 season but that injury prevented him from returning.

After the Jacksonville Jaguars traded away Josh Scobee to the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 2015 preseason, it was assumed that Jason Myers was the future and there'd be no turning back from that.

But Scobee said on 1010XL on Tuesday evening that the Jaguars were one of the teams that contacted him after he was released by Pittsburgh.

That all lines up with a Jason La Canfora report from right after Scobee was released.

The La Canfora tweet is hours after a Week 4 loss to the Indianapolis Colts when Myers missed two kicks -- one at the end of regulation and one in overtime -- that would have won the game for the Jaguars.

According to Scobee, the Jaguars contacted him at times throughout the year, but there was never going to be a chance to go back to Jacksonville because of his injury. He added he's now moving on with other teams.
