Podlesh left Jacksonville for Chicago in 2011, signing a multiyear deal with the Bears. He lasted three seasons in Chicago before being released from his contract and signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2014. Despite seven seasons of playing in perhaps the most competitive league in the world and successfully battling cancer, Podlesh faced the biggest challenge of his life while with the Steelers during his first offseason in Pittsburgh.
