Jacksonville Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell didn't hesitate when given the opportunity to address what his intentions were going into the 2016 NFL Draft.
They're going to upgrade the defensive side of the ball.
"We'll probably devote a large portion of [our eight draft picks] to the defensive side of the ball."

-- #Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell
In his three drafts with the Jaguars, Caldwell has had 10 selections in the first three rounds. Only three of them have been on defense and one of those was Dante Fowler, Jr. who was injured for the entirety of the 2015 season. That means that in three years, the only defensive draft selections picked in the first three rounds that have played a game for the Jaguars have been Johnathan Cyprien and Dwayne Gratz.
Good God.
But with Caldwell's comments today at the NFL Scouting Combine (and, frankly, his attitude throughout the entire season and after) expect quite a few defenders to be drafted.
