2016 NFL free agency: Broncos players who could be targeted by Jaguars

With players like Von Miller, Brandon Marshall, and Danny Trevathan set to hit free agency next month, the Jaguars could immediately upgrade their defense.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will be looking to upgrade their defense at any and all position groups and the Denver Broncos have quite a few players becoming free agents in a matter of weeks. The Broncos won the AFC title on the backs of their tough defense and it'll be interesting to see how many decide to stay in Colorado.

Here's a list of all the Broncos free agents in 2016, according to OverTheCap.com.

Player Position Status Salary
Vernon Davis TE UFA $7,350,000
Von Miller OLB UFA $5,250,094

Brock Osweiler QB UFA $879,170
Tyler Polumbus OT UFA $870,000
Ronnie Hillman RB UFA $750,208
Kyle Williams WR UFA $745,000
Shiloh Keo S UFA $745,000

Josh Bush S UFA $660,000
Omar Bolden CB UFA $643,607
Brandon Marshall WR RFA $585,000

C.J. Anderson RB RFA $499,167
Brandon McManus K ERFA $465,000
Bennie Fowler WR ERFA $435,000
Matt Paradis C ERFA $435,000

Right off the bat, I think linebacker Danny Trevathan is going to be a target, and so does the Big Cat Country team. He'll only be 26 when the season starts and he's an immediate upgrade to Paul Posluszny in pass coverage and athleticism. He's going to bank in free agency, but it's a good thing the Jaguars have the most cap space in the league, right?

Von Miller is going to get the franchise tag. It's inevitable, so it's probably best to get that out of our heads. Brandon Marshall has grown into a starter in this league, but I don't think he'll be a target. He'll re-sign in Denver. Malik Jackson could be an interesting second-tier guy that helps with the pass rush.

And if someone suggests Evan Mathis, no. Just no. I'm not doing another free agent guard from Denver and Mathis will be 35 before the 2016 season is over. Nuh uh.
