Jaguars 2016 depth chart: What does the 53-man roster look like after free agency?

Now that the Jaguars have upgraded their defense with free agency, what could the 53-man roster look like?

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Jacksonville Jaguars are finished with the majority of their free agency work and the 2016 NFL Draft is the only thing standing in the way of putting together a largely finished depth chart. There will be changes throughout OTA practices and the preseason, but major pieces are now in place that likely won't change between now and the season opener unless a major injury hits.

As you can see, there are some major deficiencies on the roster and some obvious needs for the 2016 NFL Draft:

  • LEO
  • Linebacker
  • Offensive line
  • Running back
  • Tight end
  • Defensive line

Some (if not all) of those positions will get addressed in the draft. But here's where I stand right now on what the 53-man roster looks like if the season started tomorrow.

Position Players
Quarterback (2) Blake Bortles, Chad Henne
Running Backs (5) T.J. Yeldon, Chris IvoryBernard Pierce*, Jonas Gray, Corey Grant
Wide Receivers (5) Allen Robinson, Allen Hurns, Marqise Lee, Rashad Greene, Bryan Walters
Tight Ends (3) Julius Thomas, Marcedes Lewis, Neal Sterling
Offensive Line (9) Luke Joeckel, Mackenzy Bernadeu, A.J. Cann, Brandon Linder, Jermey Parnell, Luke Bowanko, Josh Wells, Tyler Shatley, Patrick Miller
Defensive Line (8) Malik Jackson, Sen'Derrick Marks, Tyson Alualu, Roy Miller, Jared Odrick, Abry Jones, Michael Bennett, Richard Ash
LEOs (3) Dante Fowler, Ryan Davis, Chris Smith
Linebackers (6) Paul Posluzny, Telvin Smith, Dan Skuta, Jordan Tripp, Thurston Armbrister, Hayes Pullard
Cornerbacks (5) Davon House, Prince Amukamara, Aaron Colvin, Demetrius McCray, Nick Marshall
Safeties (4) Johnathan Cyprien, Tashaun GipsonSergio Brown, James Sample
Special Teams (3) Jason Myers, Brad Nortman, Carson Tinker

*Technically, Bernard Pierce is an unrestricted free agent. But I could see him getting re-signed before the 2016 NFL Draft.
