With free agency getting ready to kick into gear, the Jaguars have hired away a front office man from the Atlanta Falcons.

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced on Wednesday they have hired Falcons front office personnel man DeJuan Polk. Polk and Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell worked together in multiple capacities when Caldwell was with the Falcons front office and Polk will take on the Assistant Director of Pro Personnel in Jacksonville, working with Chris Polian.

"I had the pleasure of working with DeJuan in Atlanta from 2008-2012 and know firsthand what he can bring to an organization," Caldwell said in a press release. "As a former player and coach, he has a unique eye for talent and will be a valuable asset for our personnel department."

The hiring of Polk has led some to speculate it will give the Jaguars an advantage over the Falcons in free agency, because Polk will be familiar with what some of their plans were and both teams should have similar targets on the open market. While I do not believe this was the thought process when Caldwell decided to hire Polk, it's certainly a nice tool to have in the belt when picking who they're going to chase in free agency.
