Jacksonville Jaguars 2016 NFL free agency live blog: News, rumors, and more

Teams can officially sign free agents starting Wednesday at 4pm EST. Let's do this!

Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Sports

The Jacksonville Jaguars can officially sign free agents starting Wednesday at 4pm EST, following what has been a wild "legal tampering period" where the team was in about as many rumors as they could be.

Just how many rumors were the Jaguars tied to yesterday? Check out our Day 1 blog and our Day 2 blog.

Until 4pm EST today, the tampering period is still in full effect, where the Jaguars can't officially sign free agents. But they can continue to talk with any player they choose, discuss unofficial contract terms, and anything else. Just no contracts.

Follow along here for all the Jaguars-related free agency news, rumors, and more.

Live blog

6:46 PM: We can haz a free safety?

5:18 PM: Robert Ayers is up next.

5:04 PM: And the Jaguars miss out on Olivier Vernon.

3:37 PM: The Houston Texans just got better.

2:38 PM: That's Big Cat Country correspondent Uncle Chaps with the inside scoop.

12:30 PM: Again, it doesn't look like Dave Caldwell was as keen on Alex Mack as we may have thought or hoped.

12:01 PM: *heavy sigh*

10:51 AM: George Iloka was presumably one of the best -- if not the best -- safety in this free agency class. It's weird he'd re-sign for only $6 million.

10:00 AM: So, the Jaguars weren't willing to spend more than $37 million over four years for Bruce Irvin? Okay then.

9:33 AM: The Miami Dolphins have pulled the transition tag on Olivier Vernon, making him a free agent immediately.

9:28 AM: Olivier Vernon is now the Jaguars top priority in free agency, as he should be.

9:16 AM: Alfie gives us some names to keep an eye on today for the Jaguars.
