2016 NFL schedule release: 3 Jaguars games that should be prime time

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The NFL is set to officially release the 2016 schedule on Thursday afternoon, meaning we will finally find out the order the Jacksonville Jaguars will be playing all their opponents this season, and more importantly, how many prime time games the team will get. We know that every NFL team will get a prime time game this season, since everyone will play on Thursday Night Football. The big question is, will there be any other prime time games, home or away, given to the Jaguars in 2016?

Here's three games I think could be potential prime time games for the Jaguars:

Oakland Raiders @ Jacksonville Jaguars

This game has quite a few potential prime time story lines that could be interesting, first and foremost Jack Del Rio returning to EverBank Field where he was the head coach from 2003 until he was fired near the end of the 2011 season. You also have a match up of two young gun slingers and explosive offenses, which could make for a very fun game to watch between two up and coming teams.

Green Bay Packers @ Jacksonville Jaguars

There isn't much reason for this to possibly be a prime time game other than it's Aaron Rodgers and the Packers, who the league seems to love to put in prime time games. It's not a very common match up between the two teams.

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Kansas City Chiefs

Looking at the Jaguars road schedule, there's not really a lot of marquee match ups, but a trip to Arrowhead Stadium could be a fun prime time game for Monday Night Football out west.

Personally, I think the Jaguars will end up with just the Thursday Night game, because even with the young exciting offense, they're still coming off a 5-11 year and are viewed by a lot of people around the league as still a year away.
