In what's been a departure from last year's lead up to the NFL Draft, there's no consensus player for the Jacksonville Jaguars this year. Last year, it was largely Leonard Williams until Dante Fowler, Jr. was the pick for the last few weeks. But this year it's been a carousel of Jalen Ramsey, DeForest Buckner, Laremy Tunsil, and Myles Jack.
And of course Joey Bosa.
On Thursday, ESPN's Todd McShay released his final mock draft and put his stamp on the Jaguars picking Bosa. Just a few weeks ago, it was Myles Jack, but with injury news scaring off teams in the top-five, I'd be fine and dandy with Bosa.
5. Jacksonville Jaguars
Joey Bosa, DE, Ohio State
The Jaguars need a player who can come in and be a difference-maker from day one, and Bosa is that guy. His tape was consistently great throughout his final two seasons at Ohio State, and he plays with a relentlessness that can't be taught.
I have no problem with a Bosa pick. He's a complete defensive lineman, someone who can stop the run as well as pressure opposing quarterbacks, and he's the best defensive lineman in the 2016 NFL Draft. With general manager Dave Caldwell talking about how Fowler can line up at several defensive positions -- not just LEO -- a pure lineman wouldn't be a case of a duplicate pick two years in a row.
