By the time the Jaguars received their ten minutes on the clock Thursday night, two quarterbacks, a defensive end, and a running back had all been claimed from the draft board. Florida State cornerback Jalen Ramsey, however, was still sitting in the green room.
There was no chance in hell Ramsey was falling past the fifth pick.
Ramsey's phone rang within seconds -- a 904 area code with his future boss on the other end of the line. Dave Caldwell wasted very little time making Jalen Ramsey a Jaguar on Thursday night.

Ramsey started all 41 games of his three-year college career at Florida State. In these three years, the Tennessee native accumulated 180 tackles, 23 passes defensed, three interceptions, three forced fumbles, and 15 tackles for a loss. Ramsey was also a member of Florida State's 2014 BCS National Championship team.
Jalen Ramsey is the fourth consecutive underclassmen taken in the first round by Dave Caldwell, joining Dante Fowler (2015), Blake Bortles (2014), and Luke Joeckel (2013).
