Jaguars preseason schedule 2016 released

Jim Steve-USA TODAY Sports

With the NFL Draft just a few weeks away, that means the NFL needs to release something to keep the news cycle going. To get to that end, the NFL has now officially released the preseason schedule for every team in the NFL, including the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Jaguars preseason opponents are as follows:

Week 1 - @ New York Jets (Aug. 8-11)

Week 2 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Aug. 18-21)

Week 3 - Cincinnati Bengals, Sunday, August 28 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC (Nationally Televised)

Week 4 - @ Atlanta Falcons, Thursday, September 1.

The actual date and time of these games will be made at a later date.

The Jaguars preseasons the past few years have been interesting, because we've been able to locate a few stars early on. Back in 2014 Allen Hurns led the NFL in receiving yards in the preseason and we got our first glimpse into the kind of quarterback Blake Bortles could be in his rookie preseason. This year, the focus of the preseason undoubtedly will be focused on the defensive line and the pass rush, especially because the team is expected to have a lot of new faces from the draft getting after the quarterback.
