Jaguars win total betting odds set at over/under 7 wins

Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

The Jacksonville Jaguars had one of the better offseasons leading up to the 2016 NFL season, if you look at the total package of free agency and the NFL Draft. The team has been roundly lauded for the haul in the draft, picking up both Jalen Ramsey and Myles Jack, two players most had as Top 10 picks leading up. The outlook to the 2016 season wasn't looking great, at least on the betting odds in Vegas, with the Jaguars holding an over/under of 5.5 wins, again.

That's the same over/under line they had prior to last season and the team ended up with a 5-11 record. Vegas somehow always knows. The outlook appears a little bit better this season, though not by much.

The over/under line has moved up to 7 for the Jaguars with the conclusion of the NFL Draft. For me, that sounds about right and if I gambled I'd push this line. Prior to the draft I was thinking that it appeared on paper to be something around 7-9 for the Jaguars, which would be an improvement.

Even with the draft, we still have to pump the brakes a little bit and remember that it's rookies they're going to be relying on, in big part, on defense.

So, if you were putting down match sticks how would you see this line?
