Longtime defensive coordinators Wade Phillips and Monte Kiffin have won the Paul Zimmerman Award from the Professional Football Writers of America. The award is given for lifetime achievement as an NFL assistant coach. Kiffin, 76, is in his 29th season as an NFL coach and first with Jacksonville. He oversaw the dominant 2002 Tampa Bay defense as the Buccaneers won their only Super Bowl.

Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Dan Skuta was arrested last week for battery, after allegedly pushing a woman in the face after a verbal altercation. Skuta's lawyer has since released a statement alleging that entire incident was made up and that Skuta was actually the person assaulted in the situation.
