Andrew Luck signs Colts contract extension, becomes NFL's highest-paid player

The Jaguars will be facing Andrew Luck through 2021.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will be facing an Indianapolis Colts team led by Andrew Luck for the foreseeable future.

Andrew Luck has reportedly signed a new five-year deal worth an to replace his current contract with just one year remaining. His new deal is worth $25 million per year for the first three years and slightly less than that for the final two years. For comparison's sake, Blake Bortles' entire four-year rookie contract was worth just $20.6 million, according to Spotrac.

Luck is now the highest paid player in the NFL, supplanting Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco who is averaging $22.1 million per year.

With Luck as the starter, the team has reached the playoffs three times in four years, including two division titles and a trip to the AFC Championship Game.
