The Jacksonville Jaguars announced that a pair of key players in running back Chris Ivory and cornerback Prince Amukamara would miss the game this weekend against the San Diego Chargers. Now head coach Gus Bradley has said starting right tackle Jermey Parnell, who didn't practice much this week, could possibly miss the game and that his replacement is... Patrick Omameh.
Omameh signed with the Jaguars in June. He was a long shot to make the 53-man roster, but now he could be getting a start.
"Patrick [Omameh] has a chance to play right tackle for us," Bradley said on Friday. "We’ve been really pleased with his progress and he’s got some flexibility for us, too, so that would be a decision we make. And if you go back to OTAs, we jockeyed some guys around with other guys at other positions, but first and foremost, I think you probably see Pat in."
In his four-year career, Omameh has started 25 games and played in 30.
