The Jacksonville Jaguars will enter a crucial game on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens a lot more banged up than they probably anticipated. The Jaguars saw center Brandon Linder hit the injury report with a knee sprain suffered in practice and he's a game time decision for Sunday. Starting defensive lineman Jared Odrick is likely going to miss the game and starting left tackle Kelvin Beachum is out after suffering a scary concussion last week.
That's not even mentioning the fact that cornerback Prince Amukamara is set to miss his second game and Davon House and Tashaun Gipson are likely going to play, though with a hamstring injury. Oh, and Chris Ivory is back but his game time is likely going to be limited.
It's not that the Jaguars have some injury issues, it's that they have issues at some big time positions for their team. With Beachum out, Luke Joeckel is going to move to left tackle, which now means that the left guard position is going to change, in essence weakening the Jaguars are two positions simultaneously. Then if Linder ends up not playing, you're downgraded at three positions on the offensive line.
On the defensive line, Odrick has been one of the better players on the Jaguars defense. With Odrick out, Tyson Alualu is going to be starting in his place, but he's been inactive the past two weeks so we're not really sure what we're going to get.
Last season when the Jaguars stole a win from the Baltimore Ravens, it was the Ravens who were the banged up side, but for the most part they're very healthy, especially when compared to the Jaguars. There would be plenty of excuses for Gus Bradley if he were to lose on Sunday, given the specific injuries the team will be dealing with, but none the less, it's a game the Jaguars have to win if they want anything out of the season.
