Jaguars vs. Colts: Live blog for Week 17 at Lucas Oil Stadium

NFL: Jacksonville Jaguars at Indianapolis Colts Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

The Jacksonville Jaguars (3-12) are playing the Indianapolis Colts (7-8) at Lucas Oil Stadium. This will be Doug Marrone’s second and final game as the interim head coach, and presumably his last as a head coach at all. It will be unlikely this team keeps Marrone around as they’ve strongly hinted at wanting a fresh start with a new coaching staff to try and turn around this young defense, this regressing receiving corps, and a quarterback in Blake Bortles who has some of the worst mechanics in the league.

The Colts haven’t beaten us in nearly 15 months, dating back to October 4, 2015 at Lucas Oil Stadium where Jason Myers missed not one, but two game-winning kicks late in the game and in overtime. That shouldn’t be a problem this go around — Myers has been 25-for-30 this year, and made seven kicks of 50 yards or more.

Let’s start off 2017 with a win.

Live blog

4:14 PM: The Jaguars lost.

4:04 PM: LMAAAAOOOOOO ANDREW LUCK DROVE THE LENGTH OF THE FIELD IN 84 SECONDS FOR THE GAME-WINNING TOUCHDOWN

4:00 PM: Jason Myers with the leading field goal. Jaguars up 20-17 with 93 seconds remaining.

3:34 PM: And now Andrew Luck with an awful mistake. Jaguars take over with seven minutes left in the game.

3:14 PM: 17 unanswered points for the Colts. First real adversity in a game setting for Marrone in his two games. Let's see how he responds.

2:58 PM: INCOMING TERRIBLE OPINION: I like the hard count to try and get a free first down and then punting.

2:46 PM: The first possession by the Jaguars in the second half stalled, but the Colts picked on Tashaun Gipson and Johnathan Cyprien to drive down the field and make it a 17-10 game in the middle of the third quarter.

2:25 PM: It’s halftime. The Jaguars are up 17-3. They’re on track to win for the second time in a row by multiple scores. Gus Bradley only did that twice in four years.

2:05 PM: Corey Grant just ripped off a 57-yard run. Jaguars up 17-0 on the Colts. But coaching doesn’t matter.

1:56 PM: LOOK AT THIS TELVIN SMITH INTERCEPTION AND DESPAIR, PEASANTS.

1:38 PM: The Jaguars just called a play-action deep pass to Allen Robinson on third-and-short. I like these Jaguars.

1:28 PM: Great read by Blake Bortles, great pump fake to get safety Mike Adams off his position, great catch by tight end Ben Koyack for his first NFL touchdown. Jaguars up 10-0 on Colts.

1:09 PM: Allen Robinson with a 42-yard reception. Great physical run after the catch. Ran through several defenders. Longest of the season for him.

1:05 PM: Jaguars defense starts off with a three-and-out. Whew.

1:01 PM: LET’S FOOTBALL, JAGUARS!

11:36 AM: Buffalo Bills interim head coach Anthony Lynn and former Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley could be working together in 2017, according to ESPN. That would be... interesting.

11:31 AM: Jaguars inactives against the Colts: WR Allen Hurns, RB Chris Ivory, DT Jordan Hill, TE Neal Sterling, QB Brandon Allen, RB Daryl Richardson, and DE Chris Smith.

9:54 AM: The New Orleans Saints would consider a trade of Sean Payton with Doug Marrone, according to CBS Sports. Okay then.

8:00 AM: The season finale calls for a finale from @ColeFartley. Well done, Cole. Well done.

7:00 AM: Arizona Cardinals offensive coordinator Harold Goodwin to interview for the Jaguars head coaching vacancy. Hmmm... I like it. He wanted Blake Bortles in the 2014 NFL Draft so it’ll be interesting to see how his opinion has changed if at all.
