Jaguars have reached out about Josh McDaniels, according to report

The Jaguars have been linked once again to Josh McDaniels

NFL: New England Patriots at Denver Broncos Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Josh McDaniels has been a name that has been associated with the Jaguars for quite some time now. McDaniels is widely considered as the best head coaching candidate in the league, and the Jaguars obviously have an opening. It has been rumored that Jacksonville would be interested in McDaniels, and it appears that has now taken the next step, according to Albert Breer.

This should not come as a surprise to anyone. As mentioned before, McDaniels is a hot name for coaching vacancies, and the Jaguars have been linked to him before. However, if there were any doubters that Jacksonville would be interested, Breer’s report would seem to put that to rest.

McDaniels makes sense for the Jaguars, considering their struggles on the offensive side of the ball. As with any candidate, McDaniels has his question marks. After all, his first coaching gig did not go so hot with the Denver Broncos. But according to multiple people in NFL circles, McDaniels has learned and grown from that experience, and is much more mature than he was then. Also, he probably won't have personnel control wherever he lands, which was the majority of his undoing in Denver.

Black Monday has yet to officially arrive, but the coaching carousel is spinning like crazy.
