The move to essentially clean house but keep Wash as the coordinator isn’t surprising. Wash had a productive, if not impactful, defense last year. It was a top-five defense in terms of yards but lacking in terms of turnovers and scoring.
Keeping Wash and firing just about everyone else also speaks volumes about Gus Bradley’s defensive scheme — or lack thereof. Wash will undoubtedly be given the reigns when it comes to coming up with a new philosophy, scheme, and outlook on how best to use this personnel instead of trying to find the next LOTTO... whatever that is.
