Doug Marrone has made his second coaching hire...sort of. After bringing on Joe DeCamillis as special teams coordinator, Marrone has decided to retain Todd Wash as defensive coordinator, per multiple reports.

There has been speculation since Marrone was reported as head coach that he would retain Wash as his DC, and it appears that is going to be the case. Many people have wondered if Wash would be running the same scheme he did under Gus Bradley, but that seems unlikely at this point.
Wash will be coordinating a defense with new DL, LB and DB coaches. #Jaguars— Ryan O'Halloran (@ryanohalloran) January 14, 2017
As O’Halloran notes, Wash will be working with a whole new defensive staff. If they were planning on running the same scheme, they probably wouldn’t have fired the whole staff, and would have opted instead to just dismiss anyone they may have thought was underperforming. As a reminder, before serving under Gus Bradley, Wash spent time in Tampa working under Monte Kiffin running Tampa 2 schemes.
It was previously reported by Alex Marvez that Tom Coughlin wanted Doug Marrone to conduct at least three outside interviews for every person he wanted to keep from the current staff. It is unclear at this point if Marrone indeed conducted those interviews, or if Coughlin just signed off on Wash, but he’ll retain his post either way.
What do you think? Are you happy to see Wash stick around, or were you hoping for someone new completely?
