On Tom Coughlin, 70 -
When he first interviewed with owner Shad Khan in Florida 13 days ago, Coughlin was talking about the coaching job. Six days later—last Monday morning—the conversation shifted to an over-arching job in charge of all football operations, including personnel, the 53-man roster and scouting. That’s a big jump for Coughlin, 70, who hasn’t had that authority in 15 years.

Jacksonville Jaguars name Perry Fewell as new secondary coach -
The Jacksonville Jaguars have announced the hiring of Perry Fewell as the new secondary coach. Fewell has 32 years of coaching experience, including 19 in the NFL, and has previously worked under Tom Coughlin as the team’s defensive backs coach from 1998-2002. Jacksonville's pass defense ranked third in the NFL in 1999 and two years later the Jaguars gave up only 13 touchdown passes.

Chip Kelly reportedly interviewed for the Jacksonville Jaguars job -
Both the Jacksonville Jaguars and San Francisco 49ers parted ways with their head coaches after disastrous seasons. Gus Bradley is generating interest across the league, but Chip Kelly hasn’t had as much luck. However, the Jaguars did consider replacing Bradley with Kelly. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Jacksonville interviewed Kelly for the head coaching position before deciding to keep interim coach Doug Marrone.
