Now that the Jaguars have settled on their main coaching positions, they can move their focus to finishing filling out their staff with assistant positions. According to Adam Caplan, they may have another assistant already lined up.

The Jaguars previously announced the hiring of Marion Hobby as their defensive line coach, and it looks as though they may have decided on Rebrovich as his assistant. As Caplan mentions, Rebrovich spent last season as the Buffalo Bills defensive line coach. Prior to that, Rebrovich was on Doug Marrone’s Bills staffs from 2013-2014. He was also under Marrone’s lead at Syracuse from 2011-2012, serving in both locations as the teams’ defensive quality control coach. Rebrovich has also spent time at his alma mater Cortland State, as well as Concord University, where he worked in a variety of roles including defensive line coach, strength coach, special teams coordinator, and head strength and conditioning coach.

The most notable thing about this hire is the fact that Rebrovich is someone Doug Marrone is very familiar with. Many people were beginning to speculate that Tom Coughlin would not allow Marrone to choose his own guys, and instead would try to force people he would prefer into coaching roles. However, as the Jaguars staff fills in more, it’s becoming evident that this is a joint effort, and that Marrone is not being handcuffed.
