Former Jacksonville Jaguars great Fred Taylor is celebrating his 41st birthday today. There was no better running back this franchise has ever had. And arguing between him and Jimmy Smith for the team’s best-ever skill player is fun exercise.
To celebrate Fred’s birthday, let’s remember the time he live-tweeted this year’s AFC Divisional playoff game and (truthfully) claimed he was a better running back Le’Veon Bell — while Bell was in the middle of a 170-yard rushing performance.
In the playoffs.
Collinsworth says "let's just tell it like it is" tell the ppl I was faster, had better vision, more explosive and my jump cut was nicer

I do admire LBs running style. Reminds me of me ☺️

Cowher and Tomlin both had front row access to the show. Steeler Nation knows LB ain't create that style. I gave it to them for years

No need for correction...I enjoyed it as much as I did running past or around them https://t.co/CHhAcL6WdR

I didn't study anyone's game. I always trusted my eyes and just ran free. Did what felt natural https://t.co/de5C3MJMtB

Listen, I admire the kid and wish he breaks every mark I ever made. My entire career I've groomed and pushed young RBs to be better than me https://t.co/VIPggakLQg

Taylor, unbeknownst to him, played with injuries his entire career. He was as complete a running back as this Jaguars franchise will ever have.
We love you, Freddie.
