If you’re interested in taking a gamble on something related to the Jaguars, Bovada has you covered, even though the games have ended. Bovada has released their odds for who the next Jaguars head coach will be, with Kyle Shanahan as the favorite to win the job. The Jaguars are interviewing Shanahan later this week, and the odds-makers seem to think that the meeting will end well. Shanahan currently serves as the Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator, and their offense finished the regular season first in the NFL in points per game, and 2nd in yards per game. With the Jaguars offense being a major disappointment this offseason, the hiring would make a lot of sense, as Shanahan’s offenses have typically done really well.
Here are the rest of the odds that Bovada has for Jacksonville’s potential hirings.
Kyle Shanahan 3/2
Josh McDaniels 5/2
Matt Patricia 3/1
Greg Roman 6/1
Kevin Sumlin 6/1
Tom Coughlin 15/2
Shanahan, McDaniels, Patricia, and Coughlin are all names that shouldn't be surprising, as the Jaguars have been linked to all of those candidates for interviews, already completing Coughlin’s. On the other hand, Roman and Sumlin are kind of head-scratching, specifically Sumlin. Roman was a name that was linked to the Jaguars heavily the last time they were looking for a head coach and hired Gus Bradley, so I would assume that is the connection they are making now. Sumlin has not been linked to the Jaguars at all that we are aware of it, so they probably just included him because he has been a hot name to leave the college ranks and join a pro franchise.
Which of these would you be willing to throw your money down on?
