The Jacksonville Jaguars have downgraded Brandon Linder (illness) and wide receiver Jaelen Strong (hamstring) to out for their Week 5 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Neither player traveled with the team to Pittsburgh.
Strong isn’t much of a surprise as he has barely practiced, much less been active for a game since signing with the team. Linder has missed 16 of 52 career games in his fourth year.
With Linder out, it means that Tyler Shatley will likely play center. If that’s the case, newly promoted Chris Reed is the first backup at right guard should A.J. Cann miss any time tomorrow.
