The Jacksonville Jaguars are hoping to get back in the win column on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts, as their four game win streak was snapped on Sunday with a late field goal against the Arizona Cardinals. It seems Vegas and most sites think that the Jaguars will do just that, with Jacksonville opening as an 8.5-point favorites and the line has now risen to 10.5 points in some places.
Clearly, the betting public seems to think the Jaguars will easily win the game at EverBank Field.
In reality, they probably should. Yes, “Any Given Sunday”, but the Colts are a severely flawed team that have routinely just fallen apart in the second half because they don’t have the depth to hold on against most of the other teams in the NFL.
Not only that, but the Jaguars absolutely demolished the Colts in their first meeting in Indianapolis, 27-0, including sacking quarterback Jacoby Brissett 10 times. I don’t want to predict another 10-sack day for the Jaguars defense, but I have a feeling we’re going to end up feeling bad for all the hits Brissett is taking again late in the game.
Through the 2017 season the Jaguars have absolutely run over the next team they face after a loss, and it’s likely that’s going to happen again on Sunday. The team has struggled on offense the past few weeks and need to change things up, but the team hummed right along the first game against the Colts, so look for the Jaguars to try to get back to running the ball with Leonard Fournette and company.
