The Jacksonville Jaguars have been on a roll lately, both in the win column and with bookies. The Jaguars enter Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers as road favorites once again, initially opening up as five point favorites.
Many Jaguars fans penciled the 49ers game as a win early in the season, but a mid-season trade for former New England Patriots heart throb quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has changed their fortunes. Garopollo made his first start a few weeks ago against the Chicago Bears and the team has won three straight games, including the new quarterback leading two game winning fourth quarter drives in two of the games.
The Jaguars are running into an equally hot, albeit less talented, 49ers team that could result in being a classic trap game. The Jaguars are riding high and have a potential division clinching showdown the next week. Thankfully for the Jaguars, the division could be wrapped up on Sunday before they even kickoff if the Tennessee Titans lose to the Los Angeles Rams.
I tend to think that’s how it’s going to go, so the game Sunday may not ultimately matter.
