The Jacksonville Jaguars are boasting four starters for the 2018 Pro Bowl — cornerbacks Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye and defensive linemen Malik Jackson and Calais Campbell.
While there were certainly snubs, it seems as though seven additional players were almost voted in and therefore are listed officially as alternates.
2018 Pro Bowl alternates
Leonard Fournette (First Alternate)
Paul Posluszny (Second Alternate)
Telvin Smith (Second Alternate)
Yannick Ngakoue (Third Alternate)
Jaydon Mickens (Third Alternate)
Tommy Bohanon (Third Alternate)
Tashaun Gipson (Fifth Alternate)
A few thoughts...
Ngakoue being a third alternate instead of a starter is a travesty. The second-year edge-rushing phenom has four multi-sack games, 11.0 total sacks on the year, and six forced fumbles.
Bohanon as a third alternate is a bit low too. This team leads the NFL in rushing and the fullback couldn’t get a little higher?
Also, Gipson as a fifth alternate? Where is Barry Church?
